The List(s)

Things that I can't wait for. Sometime they keep me going. You know, the next "big thing"? I have this check list of small 'events' and large ones coming up between now and when little man arrives.

the small things...

*Getting my iphone - I have the worlds most janky phone. It is over four years old and does absolutely nothing cool. I barley takes pictures. I have never been the cool phone girl and I probably still won't be since I will most likely get the 0.96$ iphone but it will be cool to me. And I will be able to take pictures whenever and share them with you!

*Getting my hair cut - I am embarrassed to say that it has been almost a year. That my friends is beyond horrible. Our budget has not allowed it and so I have set dreaming about the day. It is almost here! Hopefully next month!

*Cutting Chloe (the dog's hair).  - Done and done. It was on the list to take her to the groomer but I got sick and tired of it and I did it myself three nights ago. Yes, she has several bald spots no it won't kill her or me. AND, bonus, it was FREE!

*Girls weekend - I have 3 dear friends who I love getting together with. Love being an understatement. Every few months we plan a time to get together. We don't plan it enough and when we are together the time flies by. I can't wait until this Saturday. It's been too long this time. Our group will be "splitting" in June for awhile so I want to take in every moment while I can. I love these ladies. They are the sisters I never had.

the big things...

* Spring Break Conference - We take a group of students to Colorado Springs (300 students) every spring break for a discipleship training conference. It is an intense week with a lot of information but it is also so refreshing too. I see God work in the hearts of students and each year I have been I have seen people come to know Him. I am aware of at least 3 lost students going this year and I can't wait to see what God does!

* Easter - I love Holidays and I love Easter. I can't wait to see my nieces hunt eggs and eat a great lunch with my families. Even more I can't wait to celebrate Christ Resurrection. Not that I have to wait but I love the time set aside to truly do that and the work that always takes place in my heart.

* Britt's Birthday - I love celebrating life and what a better life to celebrate!

* Spring Banquet. Our last end of the year celebration with the students. A time to honor the seniors in our ministry.

* Ending my job - This is bitter sweet. I am excited about this new chapter in life and I am scared at the same time. In our two years of support raising we have always had my income to back up on. We are giving that up now and taking a pay cut. I am trusting, trusting God, or at least working on it. It has been a stretch for me but I am excited to see what He does!

* My Little brothers wedding. - That's weird to say out loud and type. He's getting married. That makes three of us down and one to go. Although, I hope my 16 year old brother has no intention of marrying anytime soon! haha

* My Birthday - It is close to when little man gets here but I plan to still celebrate! I LOVE birthdays!

* Our Anniversary - Three years. Crazy!!!

* Drum roll please...... - He will be coming!

Counting it down truly does help me. Finding the little and big things in-between. I can't wait to meet this little guy!

Random Monday's

I love summer.

Two things that I really love about summer that are not your cliché (“Swimming”, “Vacation”, “Being Tan”, etc…) are:

*Flip Flops

*Green Tea

*Flip Flops – I love them. I live for them. I pray for warmer weather so that I can wear them. In turn, I think that flip flop tan lines are an adorable mark that summer has finally arrived.

*Green Tea – Iced that is. It is so refreshing. There are lots of flavors. It is simply wonderful! Try one of my fav’s: Starbucks – Ice Green Tea (Venti) with 2 splenda and some raspberry flavoring. It is wonderful! I also love Starbucks Lemonade-Green-Tea. YUM!

I am a summer girl. That’s just the way it is. I love summer!

Happy News!

* I am going to be an Aunt again! Britt’s sister Beth is expecting her 4th child! We are so exited about this! This will make me an Aunt 6 times and counting. I just love it!

*I leave for Dallas in t-minus 101 hours and counting!
I. Need. A. Vacation.
No matter how short, this is needed. And people – I have birthday money and I am going to shop, shop, shop!

*I am going out with Hannah on Wednesday to celebrate “Our Birthday”. We share May 29th as a birthday and so it is fun to celebrate together, exchange gifts, etc… I am SO thankful for wonderful friends like her!

~~~~~~~~~
Prayer!
*Yesterday was a little more difficult of a day concerning dad. He did not have one of his best days. There are always ups and downs but I ask that you please continue to pray for him!
*I have a prospect for a part-time job! It would be such a blessing. I have been looking for a part-time job since Britt and I will be working part-time at the BSU (Baptist Student Union) at OU and so I need something else to do.
*Please continue to pray for my dear friend Amy and her precious baby Ella. Pray for God’s perfect will. Pray that He chooses to spare Ella’s life and allows her to have some time here on the earth. Pray for Amy and that she will have a peace that passes ALL understanding. – Side note: I don’t think I ever understood the “passes all understanding part” until I was in a horrible situation. There truly is such a peace though!
I hope that you all had a marvelous weekend and a wonderful start to this new week. Enjoy the beautiful sunshine!
Happy Monday!
Giveaway's and Randomness.
Here's what's up...
A blog I follow has a new URL. Check it out Here!
In celebration of her "New Blog" she is hosting a giveaway.
Can anyone say "Moo"?
The giveaway is all about cows and nothing to do with them! (Say what?)
People! It's a Chick-Fil-A gift card! If you are anything like me you can get excited about this!
*Does a little dance*
So, run on over to Me and My Soldier Man and enter in the great giveaway!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now on to other things....

* Do you ever feel like there is something that the Lord may do for/give you but you feel so undeserving? You feel like, why me? I do. He already did more for me then I will ever come close to deserving through His son on the cross and to think of Him doing more is humbling.

* We are supposed to get more snow this day/Friday. See:

Fortunately it will get "warm" (HA!) during the day so the likelihood of it sticking is not great.
I. AM. READY. FOR. SUMMER.
The thing is, Oklahoma is not "Cold" like some places, but it is such a wet, windy cold that it cuts right to the bone and is miserable at times. I have been up north or to states like Colorado. I would take that kind of cold over Oklahoma cold.
(I am looking out the window across the hall from my office and the flag outside looks like it is going to be blown off the flagpole.)
Dear God, Please send summer soon!!! Amen.

* Trident Layers Gum is the bomb.com
(Yes, I just said that.)

* Tonight is Britt and my belated date night. We are getting takeout, bringing it home and watching 24. I love me some Jack Bauer!

Happy Thursday!

Ice + Snow ='s 4 day weekends!

Truth - I am horrible at taking pictures. I need to work on this.

On to the post...That has no pictures.

My weekend:

* Two words - Four Days!

* Sleeping in.

* Comfy clothes.

* Fire Place.

* Good times with family.

* Coloring. :)

* Reading.

* T.V.

* Sledding.

Britt and I had a great time this "weekend". We stayed with my parents for the "storm" and it was so much fun! I did not have to go into work at all on Thursday and Britt only had to go to 1/2 day.

Friday there was no work at all which meant sleep and relaxation. We did a whole lot of nothing and it was nice! I visited my childhood and colored, a lot! I love coloring! I finished reading "Redeeming Love". A-Maz-Ing! I watched a movie and t.v. shows. I ate good food. Spent time with my nieces. Spent time with my hubby. Just being.

Saturday we decided to venture out for a while. The whole family (Brandon, Rachael and the nieces included) went to Braums for lunch, because you have to have ice cream on a snowy day, and then we went sledding! It was so fun!

Sunday we decided to go to church with my parents which was really nice and went to Pablanos for lunch with a LOT of people from church. I mean a LOT! haha... Then we went home, relaxed, watched some NCIS and then went to our church. After church we went out to dinner with a great friend who offered to pay for our meal. I was telling Britt that the Lord has really been blessing us with free food. I know that sounds funny but I am serious. Money has been tight and it is a way that the Lord is providing for us. I am so grateful.

Now it is Monday... Back to work, back to real life... I think that I am ready. I guess I better be. Session starts today which means things get a little crazier at work but I enjoy it.

If you think about it say a prayer for Britt concerning his job. He has a job but as most of you know is looking for another. Please pray that the Lord will show us where to go and that He will open the right doors in His perfect time. And until then please pray that we will be content knowing that Britt is where the Lord wants him to be.

Hope your weekend was wonderful as well, that you stayed warm and were able to relax!

Happy Monday!

I love Fall....

...although sometimes I wished that more people called it Autumn. I think Autumn has a better sound to it. But whether you call it Fall or Autumn I love it! Even though summer is one of my favorite months I always welcome Fall with open arms. Some of the things that I like are:

* The crispness in the air
* Fires inside of fire place
* Coffee
* Walks
* Leafs turning colors
* Cute scarfs and Jackets
* Getting to wear my "Fall" clothes
* Starbucks (it is just better in the Fall/Winter)
* Thanksgiving and knowing that Christmas is near by

I think that when a "Change of Season" takes place people are in better moods. I don't know why but it is true. I always seem to have a certain spunk to my step I know.

Then I start to think... Often, when a change of season takes place in my heart it also puts a spunk in my step. There is just something wonderful with putting away the old and putting on the new.

I often wonder what it would be like to live somewhere like Hawaii or Florida but then I am grateful for where I live. I love the fact that we have different seasons. The fact that we get a taste of it all.

HELLLLOOOOO September.

I love it when fall is right around the corner and the weather actually feels like it too. I love the summer months but I love to see fall come (I just wish that winter would take it's time getting here. :p)
Gets me thinking about cute scarfs, warm seasonal Starbucks drinks like the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Bright colored leafs, Baking, crisp air..... The list goes on. I am ready for fall! I am ready to pull my fall clothes down from the attic (My parents attic that is... haha) and have some variety and "new" things to wear. I am ready for an evening that is a bit chilly so that Britt and I can use our fireplace for the first time.
So - I welcome you Fall. You are a happy site to see. Just don't leave too soon. :p haha

Weekend Sunshine!

When I say "Weekend Sunshine" I mean it in more than one way. One being, yes it will be sunny and warm *yeah!* but also because I am SOOOO ready for it! It has just been one of those weeks. I have been so busy but it has gone by SO slowly.

Britt and I are going to go and put our names on a list at an apartment this weekend. I am happy. It will be good to “know” (kind of) where we are going to live. The wedding is coming up so fast! It is kind of weird but mostly very exciting!

Next Saturday Britt and I will be heading out with the OU BSU and a group from First Southern to go to Glorieta! I am more than ready! The break is going to be very needed! Sometimes it is just what I need, to get away from “life” and all that it demands. I have already decided that I am going to do NO wedding planning while I am gone! :)

I hope that you are all having a good “rest of the week” and that your weekend looks “sunshiny” too!

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Well… Today will be my first day back at work since Monday afternoon. They had us leave around 1pm on Monday due to the freezing rain and ice. When I left my office to go out to my car the ground was a skating-rink. I got to my car and it was an ice cube. Thank the Lord my dad had come to help me and my friend Hannah as well. When I arrived at my car dad had dropped off Justin who was already starting to scrape my windshield. It took a little while but we finally got it. Since that afternoon I have not been working. I must say that I am really enjoying working for the state because I have been getting paid! :)

Today it is back to work. I am glad actually! I can only take a few days of nothingness before I start to go stir crazy! I do miss Britt though. He is stuck down in Norman and we can’t really get to each other. He has had all classes canceled as well. I am guessing that they will start classes back up tomorrow.

That is the exciting news around here for now. Oh! Did I mention that Saturday is a high of 60! That’s Oklahoma for you! :p
