Giveaway's and Randomness.

Here's what's up...

A blog I follow has a new URL. Check it out Here!

In celebration of her "New Blog" she is hosting a giveaway.

Can anyone say "Moo"?

The giveaway is all about cows and nothing to do with them! (Say what?)
People! It's a Chick-Fil-A gift card! If you are anything like me you can get excited about this!
*Does a little dance*

So, run on over to Me and My Soldier Man and enter in the great giveaway!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now on to other things....
* Do you ever feel like there is something that the Lord may do for/give you but you feel so undeserving? You feel like, why me? I do. He already did more for me then I will ever come close to deserving through His son on the cross and to think of Him doing more is humbling.
* We are supposed to get more snow this day/Friday. See:
Fortunately it will get "warm" (HA!) during the day so the likelihood of it sticking is not great.
I. AM. READY. FOR. SUMMER.
The thing is, Oklahoma is not "Cold" like some places, but it is such a wet, windy cold that it cuts right to the bone and is miserable at times. I have been up north or to states like Colorado. I would take that kind of cold over Oklahoma cold.
(I am looking out the window across the hall from my office and the flag outside looks like it is going to be blown off the flagpole.)
Dear God, Please send summer soon!!! Amen.
* Trident Layers Gum is the bomb.com
(Yes, I just said that.)
* Tonight is Britt and my belated date night. We are getting takeout, bringing it home and watching 24. I love me some Jack Bauer!
Happy Thursday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On an entirely different note....

I am trying/hoping to start school this fall! (Yikes!) It has been WAAAAAY too long since I was "in the books". I have been thinking about this for a while and have been hesitant to "announce" it because there are still SO many loopholes to go through. But I have faith dear reader, that if it doe snot work out you will not find me to be a looser. haha.

The biggest obstacle is MONEY. Shock! Basically, we have none! And the top priority right now is to pay off Britt's school loans, not accumulate more! However, right now with our current income I should get some grant money from FAFSA and I am also looking into some different scholarships. I am hoping to go talk with an advisor soon at my school of choice.

I am planning to attend Mid America Bible College. That is my school of choice for several reasons.

1.) The program that Britt and I hope to do overseas (If you did not know we are working towards becoming full-time missionaries) requires that I have either:
a.) 60 hours of basic courses.
b.) 15 hours of biblical/theological courses.
Since the ultimate goal is to get overseas I am going to first get the 15 hours of biblical/theological courses and then go from there with the rest of my school. I am hoping the "result" of those 15 hours will give me a minor in bible and I am hoping my bachelors will be in English, Business or Liberal Arts. I am looking into several different programs offered by Mid America that will help narrow my degree choice down. Whatever I get it will be basic and versatile.

2.) Mid America offers a GREAT Adult Study Program that will be SO wonderful for me with my current job. It is flexible and 100% online which is very nice! Plus, if I am only able to get my 15 required hours of biblical/theological and then I have to put a hold on things, Lord willing once we are overseas I can pick my
school back up because it is online.

So, that's "The plan". Still a lot to do, a lot to work on, and a lot to pray about. Basically, there is a lot! But I know that if this is where the Lord wants me he will be faithful to provide and open the right doors. I am doing what I can and the rest is in His very capable hands!

Nothing.

Sometimes nothing is just what I need…..

When I say that I mean nothing to do. This last weekend that is what was on Britt and my schedule. Nothing. It was nice.

Friday, we went to my parent’s house to watch a little Olympics. We left by 9 and we were in bed by 10. Then, we did not get out of bed until 10. :) From there we went to ihop for a late breakfast. It was a cold rainy Saturday morning and a delicious breakfast.

The rest of the day we did nothing. We wanted movies, got on the computer, read, I took the worlds longest shower. It was bliss. Later that evening we went out to eat with Britt's sister and her boyfriend at Ted’s. I love Ted’s!

Sunday morning, we once again were able to sleep until 10. I got up and made cinnamon rolls and watched Gilmore Girls. We then went to my brother and sister-in-laws house to watch some more Olympics. (If you are wondering why we keep watching Olympics at other peoples homes, it is because we do not have t.v. channels right now so we are bumming off other people.) From Brandon and Rachael’s house we went to church and then had some good friends over for dinner.

Yes, we did things this weekend but the beauty of it is that we did not have to do any of it. It was all pretty spontaneous and I still got lots of sleep. I am grateful for nothing sometimes. I needed it this past weekend.

*Woot, Woot* Wednesday

You all know how I have talked about my love for Wednesday? If you did not know, I love Wednesday. AND - you know how everyone always posts "Thankful Thursday's" or something catchy like that? I was ready for something different, something original. And yes, I know that nothing is ever original because someone else always thinks of the "original thing" especially before me. But, I don't care! I am going to tell myself it is original! haha

So... Because of my love for Wednesday, without further ado I am proud to introduce the first blogger addition (to the best of my knowledge and at least on this blog) of:

Woot, Woot Wednesday!

* Woot, Woot *
It is not freaking cold outside!
(Dear God, Please send Summer SOON! Amen.)

* Woot, Woot *
I am doing good at drinking lots of water

* Woot, Woot *
Tonight is date night

* Woot, Woot *
I don't have to cook

* Woot, Woot *
Tomorrow is Thrusday
(aka - my Friday)

* Woot, Woot *
So far, nothing is planned for the weekend. That is just nice sometimes!

* Woot, Woot *
I finally painted my toenails!

Can someone give me a "Woot, Woot"?!?

What is your "Woot, Woot" for Wednesday?

Gun Rights

If you cannot read the shirt it says:

"GUN CORNTROL: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangeled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound."

There are two bills that I am aware of in the Oklahoma House of Representatives this year that have to go with gun control.

1.) Authored by State Representative Joe Dorman, District 65, HB3124 would create an optional lifetime concealed handgun license.

2.) Authored by State Representative Leslie Osborn (The Rep. I work for! *Woot woot*), District 47, HB3157, protects our second amendment rights allowing Oklahoman's to own a registered firearm despite any peace treaties made or federal laws passed. (Basically, it is a precautionary bill).

I think that both of these bills are great. I am a STRONG supporter of protecting our second amendment rights in the right to have firearms. I do not have a concealed license, because I don't have enough money right now as a newly wed to get one :p, but I hope to have mine soon!

If you live in district 65 or 47 you should definitely call your Representative and tell them how much you appreciate this legislation. If you don't live in one of those districts you should call anyway because I know from experience that they do not receive very much positive feedback.

You should also contact whoever your legislator might be (House Representative and Senator) and tell them to vote yes on HB3124 and HB3157.

I know this may not be the most important thing out there right now but I still think that it is very important and something that should not go unnoticed.

Me and My Valentine - And a good laugh!

Britt and I had a great Valentine's Day! We decided to celebrate on Saturday and it was so much fun! I woke up that morning to find Red Roses and a pair of Red High Heels as a gift from Britt. If you did not know I have wanted Red High Heels for a long time and I was so happy to get them. What a great day to wear them on too! (Take note of the color red)

After sleeping in for a while and just being lazy we decided to finally venture out. The shoes that Britt bought for me were not quite the right size so we went to the place he bought them and they of course did not have the size that I needed. Since we had blocked out the whole day for "us time" we decided to drive the 30 minute drive to another store that had my size. Of course on the way we made a sonic run as well. :)

After that we went to blockbuster to get some movies. We could not decide on anything and we ended up going to Wal-Mart to just buy two movies. One of Britt's Choice and one of mine. I think that we should make that a Valentine's Day tradition because it was a lot of fun!

We then went to Red Lobster for dinner. Britt and I both really like sea food and it has been sounding really good. Of course Valentine's Day is a day that you can splurge so we did and it was delicious!

After that we came home and watched one of our newly purchased movies. It was such a fun day and I really enjoyed just spending it together with nothing "planned".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a totally different note...
We found this sign hanging above the light in the walkway near our apartment door....
If you are having trouble reading it, it says:
"Do you think people get mugged and raped more often in well-lit places or in the dark? I would say more in dark places. When you unscrew this light bulb you put everyone who lives here in danger. If this light bulb inconveniences you by being turned on, I would say it is definitely not such an inconvenience as to put other people's safety at risk."
Let me just say, I laughed! haha... Apparently someone unscrewed it, which is probably not the wisest thing to do, but this response is just too funny. There it was, hanging below the light, stuck into the wall with a lady bug push pin.
So, I would just like to say, if whoever wrote this is out there and reading this:
1.) I did not unscrew the light bulb
2.) I never planned on it and definitely never will.
3.) Thank you for making me laugh!
Hope that was a good laugh for you as Monday draws near...
Happy 'belated' Valentine's Day!
Brianna and Nate!
Last weekend our Niece and Nephew were able to come over to stay the night with Britt and I. It was such a treat because they live in Georgia since their daddy is in the Military. Britt's sister (Beth) decided to come to Oklahoma to stay for awhile since Nathan is gone for 2 months. It was such a treat to have them around (They are leaving tomorrow) and such a special time that Britt and I were able to have with the kiddo's!
We went to McDonalds and then came back to Britt and My place to make cupcakes, watch a movie and have a sleepover. The next morning we made Blueberry Muffins and watched Looney Toons. They are such sweet kids and we are so blessed to be their Uncle Britt and Aunt Lauren. It was fun to plat "dad and mom" too!
Here are some pictures of our cupcake making/decorating!
Uncle Britt and Nathan (Nate!)
Brianna, Aunt Lauren and Nate!
                  Of course the kids got really into the whole decorating! We had color sprinkles, marshmallows, chocolate chips, candy and even coconut to put on our cupcakes. Brianna and Nate both got two cupcakes each to decorate however they wanted. I think that I see professional cake decorating in both of their futures. ;) hehe...
Nate has a grin that makes you smile anytime! He is too cute! I love that kid!
These are the cupcakes that Britt and I decorated. Britt was going to see some friends at the dorm the next day and we thought they might enjoy these.
These are the cupcakes that Brianna and Nate decorated. Didn't I tell you? Professional Cake Decorator!
After the decorating they were a little bit sticky, so a bath was in order. I remember being a kid and going to stay with other people and for whatever reason baths were ALWAYS a ton of fun at there house. Although I don't have many "toys" yet we got creative and they loved the big red cups!
And this is what I did while they were taking a bath. ;) Britt helped a lot too. He is going to be a wonderful dad someday! :)
Sweethearts.
It has been way to long since I last posted. Life has been so crazy and at the same time I don't even know how to tell you all that I have been doing.
I have been delaying in my posting because I have some pictures that I really want to put up. Hopefully I will be able to do that sooner rather than later. My goal is tomorrow, but we will see...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This weekend is Valentines. I have a love/hate relationship with the Holiday. Love because what girl, who has a guy that she loves, would not like the Holiday. Hate because no matter how hard I try I always seem to have expectations and I hate expectations.

Right now I love Valentines though because I just got a bag full of Valentines candy at work. It made me smile. :)

I need to run, but I promise I have not forgotten you, dropped off the face of the earth or died. I have just been very busy and I hope that changes soon.

Go eat a Sweetheart because it is almost Valentines Day. <3

Wednesday

I really do love Wednesday! It is not "hump day" for me. No, no. Wednesday is my "Thursday" which means that tomorrow is Friday! :)

Not only that, Wednesday is also "Date Night". Now stop right there before you go thinking "They do not go to church on Wednesday?" The answer is no... Our church is on Tuesday night instead. Now that is cleared up... I love date night! It is a night that Britt and I have set aside to make sure that we just spend time together. Life happens, things get busy, and in fact things get crazy! Therefore, I need "Date Night".

So... that is why I love Wednesday. Wednesday is my favorite day of the "Work Week". What is yours and why?

Happy Wednesday! :)

Ice + Snow ='s 4 day weekends!

Truth - I am horrible at taking pictures. I need to work on this.

On to the post...That has no pictures.

My weekend:

* Two words - Four Days!

* Sleeping in.

* Comfy clothes.

* Fire Place.

* Good times with family.

* Coloring. :)

* Reading.

* T.V.

* Sledding.

Britt and I had a great time this "weekend". We stayed with my parents for the "storm" and it was so much fun! I did not have to go into work at all on Thursday and Britt only had to go to 1/2 day.

Friday there was no work at all which meant sleep and relaxation. We did a whole lot of nothing and it was nice! I visited my childhood and colored, a lot! I love coloring! I finished reading "Redeeming Love". A-Maz-Ing! I watched a movie and t.v. shows. I ate good food. Spent time with my nieces. Spent time with my hubby. Just being.

Saturday we decided to venture out for a while. The whole family (Brandon, Rachael and the nieces included) went to Braums for lunch, because you have to have ice cream on a snowy day, and then we went sledding! It was so fun!

Sunday we decided to go to church with my parents which was really nice and went to Pablanos for lunch with a LOT of people from church. I mean a LOT! haha... Then we went home, relaxed, watched some NCIS and then went to our church. After church we went out to dinner with a great friend who offered to pay for our meal. I was telling Britt that the Lord has really been blessing us with free food. I know that sounds funny but I am serious. Money has been tight and it is a way that the Lord is providing for us. I am so grateful.

Now it is Monday... Back to work, back to real life... I think that I am ready. I guess I better be. Session starts today which means things get a little crazier at work but I enjoy it.

If you think about it say a prayer for Britt concerning his job. He has a job but as most of you know is looking for another. Please pray that the Lord will show us where to go and that He will open the right doors in His perfect time. And until then please pray that we will be content knowing that Britt is where the Lord wants him to be.

Hope your weekend was wonderful as well, that you stayed warm and were able to relax!

Happy Monday!
